Tennessee School Psychologists: Voices from the Field
The 2025 TASP statewide survey gathered insights from 160 school psychologists across Tennessee to guide TASP priorities. The findings reveal a dedicated workforce facing challenges—shortages, excessive caseloads, and compliance demands that limit their ability to provide comprehensive services. Respondents emphasized the need for sustained advocacy, expanded professional development, and improved communication to strengthen the profession’s impact on student learning and well-being.

About TASP

The purpose of TASP is to promote equitable and quality educational opportunities for all persons.  Additionally, TASP strives to stimulate interest in and a better understanding of the role of psychology in the schools among professionals and other interested groups. We share ideas, techniques, and research which will help promote the professional competency and scientific growth of school psychologists. We also assist in the promotion of professional and ethical standards for the practice of school psychology in Tennessee.
